The 2021 has been a year full of challenges and opportunities that have led us to collaborate with many municipal administrations (now more than a hundred), businesses and Third Sector entities in various parts of Italy. Our choice is to try to work and get all components of civil society to work together because, after all, we have the same vision: we aim for a territory that is integrated, sustainable, innovative and attractive… we aim for a territory that is smart.
It is not easy and it is not immediate. It is a path.
It is a path that is based above all on continuous and active collaboration with local communities. It is through dialogue with them, in fact, that we have been able to reach some important milestones:
The strategy of ITIs (Integrated Territorial Investments) continues.
- Valmalenco (Lombardy): during the Territorial Focus phase, we identified 6 thematic corridors and 4 main infrastructure projects, which represent the backbone of the Feasibility document that is the subject of the Project Financing proposal in which we are Promoters;
- Saronno (Lombardy): after carrying out the Territorial Focus, we have filed the Project Financing Feasibility concerning many infrastructure projects spanning school construction, regeneration of large urban areas, mobility and digitalization. A project that aspires to target, in agreement with the Saronnese administration, at least 6 other municipalities in the area;
- Adda Martesana (Lombardy): in the Territorial Focus we involved the first 13 adhering municipalities from which we collected 122 projects, then declined into 6 thematic corridors and 4 territorial projects; in these days other municipalities have asked to get on board, we are at 18 but the feeling is that others will be added;
- Valsesia (Piedmont): the meetings carried out with the first municipalities of the area, participants in the Territorial Focus, allowed us to bring out a clear need for integration of the territory that has all the characteristics to become an ITI, the first months of 2022 will certainly give confirmation of the profile and size of the project.
Technical assistance
- Unica Reti (Emilia-Romagna): we followed the public lighting project of 5 municipalities in the Province of Forlì Cesena that, amidst a thousand difficulties and often specious obstacles, led to a great result: uniting for the first time several municipalities in a single sustainable, innovative and economically balanced “smart” project. A first step toward Unica Reti’s strategy of creating an integrated Smart Land 30.0 project;
- Activities for subsidized finance measures: we we helped some Lombardy municipalities and many are asking us to assist them in understanding how best to prepare themselves to incorporate the PNRR measures aimed at Local Governments.
Partnership
- Municipia: our well-established strategic and specialized partnership in integrated projects for various territories has continued; the Group’s strong drive for innovation and digitization, as well as Municipia’s recognized authority, are certainly a key competitive factor for continuing to grow throughout the country;
- Netith: another crucial strategic building block. A cutting-edge digital company that, from many quarters, has been recognized for excellence in the way it does business, makes innovation and promotes employment. Here are our new traveling companions: we will build together new major projects such as a large Ecosystem for Innovation in Eastern Sicily and we will work in the development of integrated projects in Sicily and beyond;
- Riccagioia: finally a project of excellence in the heart of our land, Oltrepò pavese. In collaboration with the Riccagioia Foundation, Ersaf, the Lombardy Region, the municipalities of the Vogherese area and some major Italian companies, a project dedicated to agriculture and viticulture 5.0 is now on the launching pad that will see the birth of a real hub available to SMEs in the wine sector and local governments to enhance, consolidate and innovate one of the sectors of excellence in our country.
We are only at the beginning of 2022, meanwhile other milestones we are about to reach and numerous other projects are appearing on the horizon…
