Between the 16th and 22th September of each year is European Mobility Week, an event established since 2002 with the aim of raising awareness of sustainable urban mobility through various initiatives organized by individual Municipalities.
In a context in which transport is the second most polluting sector in Europe, Europe’s dependence on Russian resources is to be reduced and it is intended to aim for a zero-emission Europe by 2050, the theme chosen for European Mobility Week 2023 is ‘Energy Saving‘.
Thinking about reducing energy consumption in the field of mobility in fact makes it possible to encourage the use of public transport instead of private cars, to promote active transport through the use of bicycles, to create more liveable cities as well as to improve the health and psycho-physical wellbeing of citizens themselves.
This, however, is only possible provided that Municipalities are equipped with adequate infrastructures and possibilities that facilitate behavioral change in their communities. As CISA we are supporting hundreds of Municipalities all over Italy in this process: through Integrated Territorial Projects we help Administrations to identify the needs of their territories, in terms of sustainable mobility and beyond, and to concretize infrastructures and solutions that are innovative, sustainable and inclusive, with wide-ranging strategies that facilitate travel not only within the single Municipality but also outwards from a network and supra-municipal collaboration perspective, with positive effects in terms of improving the attractiveness and quality of the entire territory.
