The Constitutive Act of the ATS for the ‘Chora Velina’ territorial project was signed today, involving 12 Cilento Municipalities in an integrated territorial development strategy. An initiative that aims to enhance and valorise the territory’s potential and which aims, over the next 8 years, to attract resources worth more than 140 million euro.
VALLO DELLA LUCANIA, 6 DECEMBER 2024 – The ATS – Temporary Association of Aims for the management of the integrated territorial project ‘Chora Velina’ was officially set up today. The act was signed by the Sistema Cilento Territorial Agency, representing the 12 Municipalities involved, and the advisory company CISA Consulting, a leader in Italy in the development of I.T.I. – Integrated Territorial Investments.
With today’s signature, the two Chairmans, Marco Sansone for Sistema Cilento and Enzo Viganò for CISA, officially sanctioned the start of the executive phase of the project, which brings together the Municipalities of Vallo della Lucania (leader), Ascea, Cannalonga, Castelnuovo Cilento, Ceraso, Gioi, Moio della Civitella, Novi Velia, Omignano, Orria, Perito and Salento. The ATS represents a fundamental step in the ambitious project that aims to provide the entire territory with infrastructures and services to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants, initiate a repopulation process and regenerate the villages without neglecting the enhancement of the territory’s tourist and cultural routes.
A long process of analysis and study, started in 2023, has led to the identification of more than 70 projects organised in 6 thematic corridors (Digital Transition – Territorial Monitoring and Protection – Mobility – Regeneration and Repopulation – Preservation and Enhancement of Historical, Archaeological and Cultural Heritage – Shared Sustainable Energy). An integrated system has been created that aspires, over the next 8 years, to attract resources of more than 140 million euro using the I.T.I., the European local development instrument that envisages, in the Programme Agreement, drawing on all available resources and measures of programming and subsidised finance in addition to the involvement of institutional finance and forms of Public-Private Partnership. A suitable tool to pursue the objective of creating an integrated territorial strategy.
A complex and challenging process that has seen the municipal Administrations, the Province of Salerno and other local stakeholders in the front row, with a single purpose: to give life to one of the first examples of integrated territorial programming in Campania.
The ATS, set up today, will support and assist the Municipalities in all phases of project grounding: from the project finalisation phase to the procurement of resources, from economic and procedural reporting to public project management. This is an integrated service that Sistema Cilento will provide, thanks to the collaboration with Cisa Consulting – a consulting company that provides technical, technological and financial assistance to Public Administrations and that in the last five years has concentrated its efforts on the implementation of territorial projects according to the I.T.I. model. A collaboration born out of a careful selection submitted to a public evidence procedure, which represents an innovative and long-term model aimed not only at the realisation of projects but also at the creation of new skills trained in the territory and destined to create the continuity of programming that is intended to ensure in the near future in the territory.
