In recent weeks, three Regions have seen CISA present its Focus Territoriali preparatory to the launch of new Integrated Territorial Investment projects: a tool supporting Municipalities that brings together a set of individual infrastructural needs/projects into a single integrated vision, enabling the development of the relevant territories.
ABRUZZO – Smartland Valle Roveto
Friday 30 June 2023, Council Chamber of the Municipality of Civita d’Antino (AQ). The meeting, which was attended by numerous institutional actors including the Mayors of the 9 Municipalities involved, Marco Marsilio – President of the Abruzzo Region, Emanuele Imprudente – Vice-President of the Region, and part of the Regional Council, highlighted the fragility of the inland areas, including the Valle Roveto, as border areas, marginal and characterized by depopulation phenomena, but also their strengths and peculiarities, including artistic, historical and cultural, natural and forestry heritage, and typical products of excellence. Starting from these themes and listening to the needs of the Municipalities involved in the project, as CISA we have therefore identified multiple projects aimed at enhancing the Valle Roveto through predisposing themes: energy independence; water and environmental protection; socio-economic development with a consequent increase in the area’s tourist and settlement attractiveness; mobility; regeneration and re-functionalization of public buildings for various purposes (residential, accommodation, social, welfare, educational) and regeneration and redevelopment of historic villages; digital transition. The ultimate goal is to counter the demographic exodus by making the territory more attractive in order to retain as much as possible the new generations on which the future of Valle Roveto depends.
UMBRIA – Amerino Smartland
Tuesday 04 July 2023, “Luciano Lama” Municipal Library of the Municipality of Amelia (TR). Through the study phase of the Focus Territoriale we were able to investigate the distinctive characteristics of the Amerino area, but also to better understand local needs and desires aiming at the future from a smart and integrated perspective. Therefore, starting from the criticalities that emerged in the 11 Municipalities involved in the project, including the lack of Local Public Transport services and the inadequacy of the accommodation sector, the 84 projects that we have collected aim in particular to regenerate the villages, enhance and network the typical local resources, represented by historical, cultural and landscape assets, for the creation of a territorial brand, as well as to increase the mobility network by exploiting the potential of renewable energy and digital. This with the dual purpose of not only intercepting and increasing slow and conscious tourism, but above all to improve the quality of life of the Amerino inhabitants themselves.
PIEMONTE – Orta Lake Green Smartland
Thursday 06 July 2023, Council Hall of the Municipality of San Maurizio d’Opaglio (NO). The first output of the Focus Territoriale phase, concerning the first 17 Municipalities of the Orta Lake area, was presented to numerous Mayors participating in the project, as well as Andrea Giacomini – President of the Fondazione Cav. del Lavoro Alberto Giacomini, Giovanni De Bernardi – President of the Ecomuseo Lago d’Orta e Mottarone, and Matteo Marnati – Regional Councillor. Starting with the ‘Orta Lake Green’ project, presented to us by the Foundation to protect and enhance the area by bringing economic, tourist, cultural and entrepreneurial developments united by the innovative ‘green vision’, we have integrated it by laying the foundations for an I.T.I.. The strategy we have identified, which is homogeneous and wide-ranging, aims to relaunch the area through intermodal and sustainable mobility, to regenerate urban areas for the benefit of the community, to use renewable energies, to stimulate territorial marketing initiatives also thanks to digital, and to protect water resources and green areas. The aim, therefore, is to make Lake Orta a fertile and innovative terrain at the service of citizens, industry and tourism, for which it will be important to broaden the analysis by also integrating other neighbouring Municipalities.
