On Saturday, November 27th, in the City Council Chamber of Gessate and online, we publicly presented the results of the SAM Smartland Adda Martesana’s Territorial Focus phase.
This project was born from the sensitivity of Ecomuseo Martesana which, inspired by the experience of SEM Southeast Milan, saw in the I.T.I. (Integrated Territorial Investment) the operational tool to network the municipalities of the Zona Omogenea Adda Martesana of the Metropolitan City of Milan to revitalize the area by enhancing its excellence.
The experience of Cisa received by Ecomuseo Martesana was the spark that allowed us, in partnership with the same Ecomuseo, to initiate the Territorial Focus phase during which, over the course of 23 meetings and 1,000 hours of work, we dialogued with 13 local Municipal Administrations, each brought out its own project needs. Despite the fact that these Administrations have different sizes and socio-economic configurations, the 122 projects we collected around common areas of intervention, which we then set up in 6 thematic corridors: Mobility, Energy Transition, Digitization, Water and Green, Regeneration, Neighborhood Tourism.
At the same time, we also presented the possible structure of the Osservatorio Permanente Martesana: a physical and virtual place for meeting and exchanging information, a place where citizens, businesses, Public Administrations, associations and institutions would interact by conferring or using data, sharing experiences and proposing projects. It would be a tool capable of creating dialogue and territorial value around the themes of sustainable development, digital transformation, place preservation and regeneration policies, soft mobility, and land enhancement.
During this public event, we witnessed a good participation not only from the adhering Local Administrations, but also from other municipalities of the Zona Omogenea and many stakeholders from civil society and the Third Sector who shared the results of this Territorial Focus, constituting the first piece of a potentially very useful path for the entire local community.
In fact by integrating these two subjects, Smartland and Osservatorio Permanente, with each other, we will see the Community Pact for the sustainable and shared development of Martesana become official, being able to count on Ecomuseo Martesana and us CISA in the role of facilitators and activators.
