The Ministry of Culture defines Historical Villages as “historical settlements clearly identifiable and recognizable in their original type-morphological characteristics, for the performance of a prevailing continuity of the historical building fabric and for the value of their historical-cultural heritage and landscape”.
The importance of these places, in terms of guarding an important environmental and cultural resource, often characterized by the presence of a qualitatively significant artistic and architectural heritage, has clashed over time with the deterioration of the housing stock, the degradation of the historical and artistic heritage, the impoverishment of the productive fabric and depopulation.
CISA, from the perspective that characterizes its approach, that of integrated territories, hybridizes interventions aimed at promoting projects for the regeneration, enhancement and management of this heritage, with a vision that, starting from local specificities, in line with international (Sustainable goals UN 2030), European (NextGen and Programming 21-27) and national (PNRR and others) strategies, allows historical villages to become the detonator of a wider local development and a showcase capable of enhancing the “intangible identity value” distinguishing them.
Our vision is based on four main areas of application:
- REGENERATION: CISA’s mission is to renew the public good, in synergy with private ones, satisfying citizens’ needs seeking to enhance the territory while respecting the environmental energy targets. Regeneration must also operate on the level of new uses for these villages always respecting the traditions and prerogatives of each local specificity;
- DIGITALISATION: one of the main drivers for innovation is the digital world. CISA acts as a consultant and interlocutor capable of identifying and implementing opportunities and actions capable of identifying and implementing opportunities and actions to provide new services and environments keeping attention to a view of sustainability and the goal of disseminating technological knowledge among all stakeholders of the projects
- CULTURE AND TOURISM: in these places we find tangible signs of long and important historical and cultural traditions, at risk of deterioration and oblivion. CISA proposes the elaboration of projects where schools, universities, libraries and cultural associations can become promoters of events, training and experiential paths able to revive new territorial identities, with a virtuous relationship between tradition and innovation.
The paths we are proposing are able to assist administrations in identifying those elements capable of generating a new attractiveness of places: new infrastructures to facilitate accessibility, connections with the surrounding area and a recognisable brand to enhance the identity of these places
- SOCIETY: one of the main objectives of CISA is based on the conviction that the integration between territories linked with the creation of innovative infrastructures and services are able to produce benefits: social inclusion and innovation (youth and female employment and a new concept of local entrepreneurship), growth of attractiveness and increase in tourism.
These dynamics are even more important in the case of historical villages, especially in a context of renewed interest and recognition of their specific features
