The objective of the regeneration of the Ex Littorio of Caronno Pertusella is to give back to the community an area capable of hosting social activities. The design of the external area of the Littorio in fact will be the first step in the regeneration and enhancement of the green space currently unused and adjacent to the new hypogeal volumes of which above.

The concept, currently under development, will focus on four cornerstone principles:

1. Reconnection of urban fabrics: configuration of a clear urban structure, creation of an urban core to serve public functions, positioning the quality of common spaces at the center of Caronno Pertusella’s future development;
2. Promotion of sustainability: creation of advanced public spaces, maintenance of green and permeable surfaces and increase of tree-lined areas;
3. Promotion of inclusiveness: creation of spaces and paths easily accessible by every individual resulting in traffic modulation and mitigation;
4. Enhancement of open spaces: use of natural elements as a real defining element of the space, ensuring the attractiveness of the area through the establishment of multifunctional and quality street furniture that incentivizes teaching-educational activities with a special attention to schools in the immediate area.
